Modeled by the lovely Stephanie Tauson. I have to admit, this is the costume I took some liberty with. Everything is as close to replica as possible, except the train. The movie costume was short, about ankle length, this dress is obviously a lot longer than that. So in my mind this is how the dress looked before it was eaten by moths sitting in Bellatrix’s closet while she was in prison. It is double layered with black chiffon and along with the train it is so yummy to wear! Elegant and yet so witchy.
I love the train, it’s not accurate I know, if you potterheads are offended, sick your house elf on me.

To answer you Sara, I did create these costumes as samples for a wonderful store in Santa Monica, CA called Whimsic Alley. (However, I did make another Belatrix costumes for myself cause it’s so gosh darn fun to wear.) I don’t know the status of the samples yet but I believe that they were going to made for resale there. Whimsic Alley has really great stuff-not the cheapy Halloween costumes from a bag. Even though I make costumes and samples and I still bought a robe from them rather than make it myself-they are high quality and a for a really good price. I have yet to check out how my costumes turned out. I do believe that you can order them online as well. IF you live near Santa Monica I highly recommend visiting their store. The dress is PERFECT. I think it is BETTER than the one in the movie, more like something Bellatrix would wear. I am interested in purchasing the pattern, what size do you have it in, and how much is it?
